ASME works with the engineering community globally to help develop and promote solutions to real world challenges. We helped them effectively reach over 2 million people with a social voting platform to rank these innovations.

Can an engineering association drive social innovation?

ASME believes in promoting the art, science and practice of science and engineering around the globe. By promoting a global competition, they have been able to drive more focus on sustainable and scalable innovation. They held three competitions this past year, in Washington DC, India and Kenya. We were able to create an elegant and effective platform that leveraged their existing assets to reach millions of people. Over 250,000 votes were cast for the innovations.

Can an engineering association drive social innovation?

Paul Scott, Program Director ASME

Spartan developed a platform to provide all "Hardware Led Social Innovators" and entrepreneurs with a virtual home for innovation. All communication, entries, event registration (via Eventbrite), social voting and short-listing were facilitated through the platform for all three competitions in India, Kenya and DC.

The platform was built to be reusable for each competition and a foundation for future functionality. Working together were able to validate the process and execute on building a platform that ensured a successful event.

How can we collaborate?
