The unemployment and job markets have always been under a magnifying glass, but the internship process is perceived to be much more formal than it actually is. Looksharp set out to build a platform where interns would get the same attention as professionals had been in the post-college job market.

Colleges, universities and large businesses have varying levels of programs to help connect students with internships, typically through referrals of current employees, or general outreach programs. This process needed to be simplified by creating a more formal, technically intelligent and user friendly process for helping interns find great internships and help companies find great future employees.

Can a new process simplify the fragmented, two-sided internship market?

Spartan helped guide Looksharp strategically by exploring how to make this process more intelligence based and effective. We focused on validating the business model, identifying user profiles and developing use-case scenarios. Initial wireframes and prototypes were created for the platform to validate that the required technical build actually fit the business need. Looksharp now differentiates themselves by providing more relevant job information to specifically qualified prospective candidates.

Today, Looksharp has over 5 million page views and 150,000 applications per month.
